“*haaaa, haaaaaa* RENN, Come to the Dark Side. *haaaaaa, haaaaaa,*” Darth Vader says as he moves towards the young man on the platform.
“Never! Take that!” *woooom* Renn swing his lightsaber. *chich, chich* He swings again.”And that!” *briiim, brooooom*
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Your powers are strong young Jedi!” Darth Vader hollars as he runs away, defeated once more by the young Jedi, Renn.
See Renn is a great Jedi with many powers, but he is on a different journey this week. One of the mind. It is far greater than anything he had to face with Yoda. Moving rocks? Pffft, nothing. Making R2 whiz and click, hahahha. Lifting up his Starfighter, come on. No, this week Renn faces an even greater foe than Darth Vader himself. Renn has epilepsy and is going through tests that most 5 year olds should never have to go through. He has a great team of doctors who are on their journey to find out what is going on in the mind of that little Jedi and come up with some answers.
I know Renn through his mom, Bethany Telles, and have liked her and her family from day one. Bethany is just like me, a children’s writer. And just like me, she likes to have fun. Kind of explains why we have become friends. Well just like me, Renn is a Star Wars fan. :0) So that made us instant friends too.
Bethany is letting us know about Renn’s journey on a blog:
I -as well as several other writers- are posting things this week to help Renn pass the time better. Please leave a comment, post some Star Wars jokes and/or trivia for him and his family. Bethany will be online off and on and will let Renn see it all. You can check out all the writers that are posting on their blogs at Susanna Leonard Hill blog.
Bethany, Rick, Renn, and Eli: I am praying that the answers are found this week. Keep strong young Jedi!
