New Book Baby in the WiLd!

There’s a new book in the world! My 11th picture book is now available!

The GET AWAY DANCE takes on a serious subject of what you should do if someone tries to take you away. I know, it’s a very serious and scary subject. As a writer, I believe in the power of words and education.

My generation grew up with Stop, Drop, & Roll, Just Say No to Drugs, Stranger Danger. I felt the empowerment of knowing what to do when a scary situation may have occurred.

After seeing someone trying to kidnap a child on the local news one night, I got to thinking what that child did right. Then I realized there was a need for others to know what to do, in case something like that happened to them.

Thus… The GET AWAY DANCE was born.

I hope to encourage parents to reinforce Stranger Danger to their children as well as include the Get Away Dance techniques to better equip their children in case someone tries to kidnap them.

Liddil Gets Her Light Lightning Bug Activity

Summer is still going. One of my favorite activities growing up was catching lightning bugs in a jar and watch them flicker. Have you ever done that?

I always let them go before I went to bed, but for a moment I had a small glowing magic in the palm of my hands. It still amazes me.

Getting Ready…

There’s been a lot of behind the scenes planning here.

But I also wanted you to know why I have been absent lately.

Life Interrupted…

My husband had been sick for a while. Honestly, he has never truly recovered 100% from his open heart surgery in 2012.

Almost 3 months ago, we all came down with the flu. Tim got sick and progressively got worse. I took him to the er and found out he had to have surgery. There were complications. Two and a half days later, he took his last breath.

He was gone.

These past few months have been hard to say it best. Life will never be normal. I’m trying to piece things back together. To carry on with things we had planned on doing.

Like what is going to happen Monday. 🙂

He was so excited. Just know a lot of planning has gone into this celebration. So while I am excited about this coming week. Please understand why I may not seem to be that way all the time.

So, on a happier note…

The blogs are being written. The tweets are planned out. And I’m hoping you’ll like everything.

Here’s too a grand adventure. Keeping your chin up. And trying to see the good in everything.
